A B Chance is a supplier of parts for electric utilities. One particular component was a fabricated screw anchor that is typically used to tie to pole guy wires. Their concept was to change the product to cast steel. In this process they would be able to utilize scrap from their operations in the melting furnaces that provided molten metal to the molds. The parts would be trimmed and loaded while hot into the austenitizing furnace for austempering. The resulting product would be stronger, somewhat lighter, and best yet cheaper than the parts that they replaced
